PURPOSE
The purpose of this workshop is to:
- Provide the participant with an understanding of the elements
and steps in an interest-based approach to resolving personal
and professional conflict and
- Prepare the participant to initiate and conduct an Interest
Based Negotiation to resolve a dispute.

INTENDED LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify the origins of conflict
- Identify the characteristics of conflict
- Recognize different styles of handling conflict
- Understand the interest-based mechanisms in the Dispute
Resolution Process
- Understand some tips for dealing with difficult people
- Understand a process for conflict resolution from an interest
based perspective
- Explain the steps of an interest-based negotiation model
- Understand the relationship between effective communications
and negotiation
